About Me:

Hi I'm Avery! Not much is known about my past as I came to WAG as an emergency temporary boarder who soon became a permanant resident. I was recently taken to the Vet Clinic and given my first vaccines and a full once over. They said I was a healthy pup but it was noted that I have a umbilical hernia on my belly that should be repaired at the same time as my spay.

I've been hanging out with Isla and some of the other puppies at WAG since my isolation ended.  I love playing with them (big and small) and am enjoying spending time getting to know the humans at WAG and am practising wearing a harness and leash for exploring. I am the cutest girl, so affectionate and loving. I love company but I have been known to play with my toys all by myself and keep busy when I need to. I can be a little nervous at first but please be patient and give me time to get used to you and warm up.

I have had a challenging start to life with some big changes so  stability and routine is what I am looking for. Lots of things are clearly new to me, I will need home with a family ready to give a chance to a deserving young girl who is in a really important stage of puppyhood! Helping me to gain confidence in the world around me with lots of positive experiences and moving at my own pace is crucial! Puppy classes with some basic training with a WAG-approved positive reinforcement trainer would be beneficial while I learn new skills and transition into my new life.

My Perfect Match:

- Able to provide a calm, nurturing environment with people that will pay attention to my body language to understand how I feel.
- Is ready for the 10+ year commitment
- Loves everything puppy.
- Will continue with basic training - I will need a post-adoption training appointment or Puppy classes with a WAG approved trainer.
- Lots of patience!
- Will use food as a motivator!
- Will love me forever no matter what, quirks and all!
- I need a home that is committed to me and ready to give me a life with love and adventure for the rest of my years.

My Story:

I came to WAG for a sleepover as part of the compassionate emergency boarding situation. I soon became a WAG resident and they are now looking for a loving home for me to grow up in and be loved and cared for the rest of my years. WAG will ensure that I am spayed and will not be a young mum, they will also cover the costs for my hernia to be sorted at my spay surgery so that it doesnt cause me any issues in the future.

If you are not in a position to adopt but would like to support WAG, please consider donating to ensure that Avery and other animals like her can come to WAG and be kept safe when emergencies happen!
