About Me:

Hi I'm Amhoosh!

I came from a very loving home, where a housing situation forced me to be surrendered to WAG. I am a big bouncy affectionate boy who has been at WAG for a few weeks now. I felt scared when I first arrived at the shelter but I soon started to trust the staff who cared for me and I started asking for pets and wagging my tail a lot more. I love treats, snacks, kongs, bones, all kinds of things really. I am keen for cuddles and playtime but I can forget my size sometimes as well as my manners so am practising not jumping up on my friends and also getting used to wearing my harness for safe walks.

I can be a bit jumpy with loud or sudden noises, I especially don't like the avalanche bombs on the mountains but I look to the humans for comfort and reassurance and calm back down quickly. I've started practising wearing my harness and going on short walks around the shelter whilst wearing a tracker for extra safety. I love being outside but I also will chill in my kennel, its my safe space where I can relax and sleep while I decompress.

Hopefully I will find my forever home super quickly as I am only young and would love to find a family who will be patient with me and give me all the love and attention that I need.

I lived alongside other dogs and cats in my previous home, so I might like to live with them again but I would have to be introduced properly and go at my own pace. I have made a few girlfriends whilst I've been at the shelter, I love playing with Star, Macadamia and Sammy. I am such a handsome boy, everyone who meets me tells me so, it must be true. I am ready for all the snuggles and love in the world and ready for my next adventure.

I need a home that is committed to me and ready to give me a life with love and adventure for the rest of my years. Some training working with a WAG approved Positive Reinforcement trainer would also be beneficial to me and my future family. I can't wait to find my forever home!

My Perfect Match:

-Is willing to take a few trips to WAG to get to know me before taking me home.
- A family with patience
- Understanding that a lot of things are new to me, I may need time to adjust to my new surroundings
- Be proactive with my training, using a WAG approved trainer that will help me contiinue to gain confidence and give my family the tools they will need
-Having a safe & secured yard would be a bonus for morning zoomies! If not, being okay with using a long line to allow freedom but keep me safe.
-Will love me forever no matter what, quirks and all!

My Story:

I came from a loving home but they were unable to keep me. I was brought to WAG for some stability and TLC, and am now looking for my perfect match!
