About Me:
Hi, I’m Meew Meew!
I have been in the care of WAG for a couple of months, as part of the Critical Care program. I’m a sweet young kitty who is currently in a special foster home healing. It may be my forever home depending on how I do with the resident cat who I am very slowly being introduced to.
I have been having issues with a skin condition for some time, which presents as a patch of sore skin on my neck and shoulders which got worse during the summer. The staff at CMVS and WAG have been helping to look after me and carried out a biopsy to find out what was that was bothering me and most importantly – how to can make it better! It turned out to be a rare condition called “Feline Idiopathic Ulcerative Dermatosis” which can be worsened by stress. There is no simple fix and solution, but I am being fed special food and am on a couple of meds to help me with it and my open wound is getting smaller and smaller. I still have to wear a cone and a onsie most of the time, but I have some supervised cone off time so I can do some grooming on other areas of my body and other natural cat behaviours. I am also doing lost of extra enrichment on top of my day to day routine including food puzzles and training. I love to learn and am a great candidate for clicker training. My foster mom is looking after me and helping me heal more and more each day, I am becoming the happy, healthy cat I once was. I can be quite sneaky and try to get at my neck (licking or scratching) so its a big job to look after me and keep me safe. My favourite thing is to climb into my humans laps or jump onto their shoulders and have a long snuggle, I always want to be by their side. Otherwise you will find me on my window perch watching the world go by.
Will be ready to commit to me long term and not give up on me
Will keep my health in mind and take me into the vet for regular checkups, its possible that I may need specialist food long term too
Will give me time to adjust to my new surroundings
Will provide lots of enrichment, scratching towers, toys, catio etc.
Will set me up for success if I am expected to move into a home with other animals or children (TBC)
Will keep me safe and happy, and loved forever
I am little but I am BRAVE and I am definitely a fighter! Thank you to all of our wonderful supporters and Critical Care Fund donors. Without you it would not be possible to take on cases like these and give these animals a second chance.

My Story:
I was with my previous home since I was born, they loved me very much and made me a member of their family. However, due to my declining health they were no longer able to provide me the care they knew I needed. DONATE TO WAG! Notice: JavaScript is required for this content.
