My story:
Hi, I'm Taylor!
I arrived at WAG at the end of July, and I’ve made huge progress since then. When I first got here, I was terrified of everything and everyone, but I’ve learned to trust and love the people who care for me. I’ve even made some new dog friends to play with, and I’m loving all the new adventures I get to go on with them.
Before I arrived, I spent most of my time outdoors, so I’m still adjusting to life inside, and I’m not too keen on sleeping in my kennel at night just yet. But I’m working on it! When I first got here, I was really nervous about being touched, but now I adore pets and cuddles—if I can stay still long enough for them! I’ve gained so much energy since my arrival, and these days, I’m bouncing around with joy! Back when I first came, I wasn’t feeling my best—I was very slim and a little unsure of everything. Now, the staff say I’m like a whole new dog, and they’re thrilled with how far I’ve come. I’ve even learned some new skills to show off! I have a bit of a quirky side—I love sneaking onto the reception counter to grab a treat or just see what’s happening on the other side. I also know which treats I like and which ones I’m not so keen on—I’m a bit picky like that! On walks, I wear a tracker because sudden loud noises still spook me sometimes, but when I have another dog by my side, I feel much more confident. In fact, having a dog friend really helps me in general, especially when I’m facing something I’m still working on—like getting into a car. That’s still a bit scary for me, but I’m making progress and getting braver every day.
I’m really ready to find my forever family now, and I know I’ll do best in a calm, nurturing home. I need someone who will be patient with me, who understands that I’ve been through a lot and that I’ll need to continue building my confidence at my own pace. I would love to have a dog buddy to help me feel secure and share all the fun with. My perfect human will be ready to work with a WAG-approved trainer to help me tackle my anxieties and guide me through this exciting next chapter of my life. In return, I promise to bring joy, laughter, and so much love to your life. If you think we’d be a great match, please fill out an adoption application today. I can’t wait to meet my forever family and be the loyal, fun-loving companion you’ve been looking for!
My perfect home:
Will understand that I have had a difficult past prior to coming to WAG. I have gained tons of confidence during my time at WAG but am still working on things like car rides and would love to meet you a couple of times prior to being adopted and taken home
Will provide me with a calm quiet home and safe space. Many things are brand new to me, such as car rides, wearing a leash and I am a brave boy but need to take things slowly
Is ready for the 10+ year commitment
Will work with a WAG approved positive reinforcement trainer to help guide me as I transition into my new home and help me feel safe
Will use food as a motivator
Will love me forever no matter what, quirks and all!
Will provide me with vet care with annual checkups, vaccine boosters and anything else I might need
I need a home that is committed to me and ready to give me a life with love and kindness for the rest of my years
