My story:
Hi I'm Ichigo!
I have been in the care of WAG for a few months now, but luckily I have been able to spend lots of time in foster homes lately. I find the shelter quite stressful and do better with a consistent routine with one or two humans in the home. I came from a very loving home and was given a great start to life, but due to no fault of my own I needed to come to the shelter. I am nearly a year old now and have grown alot since being here! I have tons of staff and volunteer friends and settle well in my kennel when I am at WAG. I am a sweetheart who loves to play with toys, other dogs who I have been introduced properly too and cuddles with the humans in the evening once I have had a full and enriched day! I enjoy walks but can sometimes become overwhelmed and I don't realise my size or strength. I am a very wonderful boy and I can't wait for the right match to come bring me home. I am working hard on my training and really want to be a good boy, will you give me a chance to prove it to you?
I have some great life skills already and would love to continue learning in my new home, but this has been a stressful transitional period for me so I'll need some patience whilst I settle in. I have lived with a cat before and am quick to make friends with new people but I may need some help adjusting and living in a new household. I am approximately 11 months old now and am all up to date with my DA2PP vaccine, flea/worm treatments and have been neutered.
I love cuddles, toys, my bed and am keen to try new treats and have fun with my friend. I am SO handsome and am charming my way into everyones hearts already. Will you find room in your heart and home for me too? Hopefully I won't be at WAG for much longer....
If you're ready to offer a warm and supportive environment to an adolescent rambunctious puppy like me, please consider filling out an adoption application today. I'm excited to find a loving family that will help me continue to grow into a happy and healthy dog!
The first stage to adoption via WAG is always to fill in an application form first, and then we will be in touch about the next steps. Thank you!
WAG is very full at the moment and receives new surrender calls each day, please consider adopting from your local shelter or applying to become a foster home to help our animals in need. If you are not in a position to adopt right now, please consider donating to WAG so that they can say 'yes' to animals like me who need some help still so early on in life.
My perfect home:
Someone with patience who love sweet, bouncy young dogs who are still learning and growing each day
Understanding that I have had HUGE changes in my life recently and to give me the time I need to settle in and relax after my adoption. Especially if I am to live with other dogs or multiple humans. Lots of things are overwhelming to me and I need consistency in my routine and training to feel safe
Be proactive with my training, using a WAG approved trainer that will help me learn new skills, work on my current ones and give me the best set up for success
Be open to muzzle wearing dogs and continue my training plan to use one when/if needed
Having a safe & secured yard would be a bonus. If not - not problem but being okay with using a long line to allow freedom whilst keeping me safe
Will take me for annual vet checkups and be proactive with my health, this may mean keeping me on medication post adoption whilst I adjust and beyond if needed and recommended by my Vet team
