My story:

Hi, I'm Alice Cooper...a critical care case arriving just before the holidays!

I am a young senior who is looking for a peaceful environment to settle into for the rest of my years. I am very well loved by all who know me, I have lots of friends and am a beloved dog in my community who have cared for me since my guardian sadly passed away a few years ago. My neighbourhood friends have taken care of me, they have been wonderful but recently WAG was asked to give me some extra help for me to get healthy. I do require some TLC and medical care moving forward to make sure I am feeling my best and am pain free. Including loosing some weight, when the snow melts I can't wait to go swimming again, I absolutely love water. I recently had a vet appointment at Pemberton Veterinary Hospital, where it was noted that I have some old injuries to my back legs and there are some concerns to note about my liver issues on my bloodwork which will be further looked into. I will have Xrays and more tests done at my upcoming dental surgery next month and a plan is now in place. For now I am getting to know the staff, and luckily have not needed to come to the shelter itself so far which is very busy and stressful right now. I love my temporary holiday foster home and hope to find a long term foster set up or ideally a permanant home soon where my health needs can be a priority whilst I recover from my surgery and beyond.

Thanks to all who have helped me along the way on my journey so far, I am a special girl - everyone has such lovely things to say about me and just want the best for me going forward. I am a gentle soul, known to be great with dogs, I love people and apparently ok with cats but this has not yet been confirmed for sure. If you would like to help with my medical costs as part of WAG's critical care fund, please consider donating today! If you would like to foster me long term, until I find my pawrect match then get in touch with WAG today, or apply to adopt if you think we might be a good fit for each other.....

My perfect home:

  • Someone who will keep me safe and prioritise my health post adoption and beyond, I will soon be recovering from dental surgery and may require rechecks, repeat bloodwork, medications and anything else that might come up for my future care

  • Understanding that I have had HUGE changes in my life recently and to give me the time I need to settle in and relax after my adoption

  • Be patient and kind as I settle in - using a WAG approved trainer if recommended to help me in my transition to my next adventure give me the best set up for success

  • Having a safe & secured yard would be a bonus! If not - not problem but being okay with using a long line to allow more freedom when I am ready for it whilst keeping me safe

  • Will love me forever and take me swimming and other things I enjoy!
