My story:

Hello, we are Turnip and Parsnip!

*We are spending time in a foster home locally

We are new arrivals at the shelter who are looking for a peaceful home where we can stay together as we continue to learn about the world around us and how to trust humans. We came from a large group of cats who had multiplied quickly and were able to be caught and taken on through a collaboration with other local animal rescue societies. Some of the cat crew were more socialised than others, but we will require a little more patience and understanding to feel comfortable in our new surroundings. The mom cats and suspected kitten daddy have been spayed and neutered to prevent any more litters and have stayed with their guardian who reached out for assistance.

We are a sibling duo and would prefer not to be separated as we find comfort and confidence with each other. We went to the vet for our first checkups and vaccine and were ever so brave. We have also been spayed and are currently recovering at the shelter, but we would much prefer to be in a forever home or even a foster home as it is loud around here and we prefer to spend time together rather than with any of the other kitties currently in the cattery. We are shy and timid, but the staff are spending time in our room during the day and letting us go at our own pace, allowing us to watch them from our hiding spots and check out the tasty treats on offer.

It's still early days, but we are looking for a home willing to take things as they come, respecting our space and understanding that we may never be lap cats or could take a long time to feel safe enough for pets. The staff love us already and can't wait to get to know us better, perhaps when we are more relaxed we might be interested in playing with each other and chasing wand toys. For now we are warm, well fed and out of harms way, this is just the start of our journey and we are keen for you to follow along!

Recently spayed, they have been resting up but are eager to find their special person who will provide a home for the two of them, together. Bonded pairs and shyer cats can spend a long time at WAG whilst waiting for a home, if you can't adopt at this time, please consider donating towards their care or even providing a foster home for them whilst they wait!

Ready to give this loving pair a second chance and show them all that life has to offer? The first step is to fill out an application form via our website today!

My purrrrfect match:

  • will be ready for a 10+ year commitment, with consideration of additional costs for two cats.

  • have lots of patience whilst we learn to feel comfortable with humans. We are undersocialised and are currently very fearful of humans.

  • someone who understands that we are slowly getting used to humans and trusting them, we are making some progress but may never be lap cats!

  • will provide lots of enrichment, scratching towers, toys, catio etc.

  • will keep our health in mind and take us into the vet for yearly checkups.

  • will keep us safe and happy, forever.
