WAG is honoured to be named Whistler's 'Favourite Non-Profit' 2022 in Pique's annual Best of Whistler awards! For the 10th year in a row, we want to thank our community for voting for us and supporting the work we do.
We are thrilled that our very own Denise Wood is pictured with Rocco as Whistler's Favourite Volunteer. Incredibly deserving of this award, Denise dedicates a lot of time and love to WAG and we are so happy to see her being recognised. From being a member of the board, to dog walking, treat giving, advocating for animals in need, Denise also makes and sells beautiful bandanas with 100% of the proceeds going to WAG. In the last 4 months alone, Denise has raised $2260 throughout this endeavour. Please join us in thanking Denise for her commitment and congratulating her on these achievements.
A special mention to WAG staff alumni Imogen, who came in 2nd Favourite Volunteer for all she does for our little shelter and resident animals too. Well done!
AND not forgetting our next door neighbours at WCSS who came a close second for best non-profit for the support they give our community, offering so many important services for this town.

2021 ended on a sad note when the world learned of the passing of Betty White, a Hollywood legend and former star of the hit show, The Golden Girls. She was 99 years old and passed away shortly before her 100th birthday.
A long-time animal lover, her 100th birthday became a day to donate to your favorite animal rescue group, and WAG was lucky enough to be the charitable recipient for a fundraiser hosted by the Raven Room here in Whistler, in partnership with Tito's Vodka!
Serving her three favorite foods (hot dogs, french fries, and vodka!), our community celebrated her in style all while supporting the animals she loved so much.
The Raven Room raised $760 and Tio's Vodka generously matched that donation for a grand total of $1520!
The donations to WAG that day came from far and wide, and we also received $5796 in honor of Betty White and her 100th birthday - we were absolutely blown away by the love and support for this legendary woman and for WAG.
THANK YOU to all our donors and supporters, and to the Raven Room and Tito's Vodka...We can't wait until next year!
2021 presented WAG and our communities with even more challenges this past year, but thanks to your support, we ended on a high note!
Not only did we meet our $15,000 fundraising goal, but we also surpassed it, raising a massive $26,200 for the animals of WAG. We could not have done it without the support of our incredible communities, near and far.

COVID-19 has given those working from home more time with their loving fur family members than ever. Sadly, not all animals are loved and cared for. There are many who do not have a loving home, medical care, food, or even a bed; they do not know what a gentle touch is or how to play.
They have pledged to match every dollar donated to WAG from November 30th (Giving Tuesday) to December 31st, up to $15,000... That means we could raise $30,000!!!!
Those funds of up to $30,000 could go a long way to help feed, shelter and rehabilitate animals before they are able to go to their forever home.
Help us reach our goal of $30,000 and donate today - tax receipts are available!
Our 2021 Pet Photos with Santa fundraiser was a huge success!
Thank you so much to everyone who came, and to our incredible staff and volunteers. Santa said it was his favorite stop of the holiday!
A special thank you to our Holiday Matching Campaign and Santa Photos sponsors:
We are still totaling the number of donations made, but everything will be invested directly back into improving the quality of life for our shelter animals - Thank you for your support, and see you next year!
