PETER

Breed: Mixed Breed
Gender: Male
Age: Approx. 8 weeks old
Size: Small but growing every day!

Energy Level: bouts of kitten energy with play and naps
Litter trained? working on it, I'm just a baby after all
Kids? Unknown, likely with proper socialisation, supervision and separation
Cats? Unknown, likely with proper socialisation, supervision and separation
Dogs? Unknown, likely with proper socialisation, supervision and separation
Medical Needs: finishing up my first round of vaccines, my neuter surgery and then yearly checkups

About Me:

Hi I'm Peter! I came to WAG with my two siblings when we were found alone a few hours north of Whistler. We were only little babies and we were thought to be orphaned. Some kind humans helped us out, kept us warm and looked for a rescue who had space to be able to take us in. They looked all over for our mom but there was no word of her. We went to the vet as we were so tiny and had sore bellies, we were only thought to be around 4 weeks old so needed lots of extra care and love. Added to that, we had a special feature - two of us have mini tails and one of us had no tail at all, this has been monitored and seems to not be impacting our day to day lives balance-wise etc and so on.

Now that we have reached 8 weeks old, we are old enough and well enough to have our 1st vaccines and are ready to leave WAG and find loving homes of our own. We were super shy when we arrived, but we have been gaining confidence and showing our little personalities more and more each day. We love playing together and running around the cat room we are in but we hope to find homes of our own soon. We'd likely enjoy being adopted in a pair, or a single if there is another young cat in the home we can befriend and spend time with as we continue to learn all about the world around us.

I am SO excited that it is my turn to find my own family, to love me and keep me safe forever and ever soon. If you feel like you might be the one, and are ready now - please fill out an application form today! WAG will be in contact with successful applicants and will arrange meet and greets -  available for adoption NOW.

My Purrrfect Match:

- will be ready for a 15+ year commitment!

- have lots of patience while I transition into my new home with my new family

- will be patient with me and look after me with a lot of supervision if I am to be expected to live with little humans or other animals

- will provide lots of enrichment, scratching towers, toys, catio etc.

- will keep my health in mind and take me into the vet for yearly checkups

- will understand that I am still developing and my personality may change over time!

- will keep me safe and happy, forever

My Story:

I was brought to WAG by a concerned citizen when me and my two siblings were found alone and cold at a gas station in Cache Creek. Our mom was nowhere to be found and we were brought to WAG for care as we were little babies and found to have special needs. We have been to the vet twice and are doing really well healthwise now after a month at the warm shelter being fed, weighed and more each day since.

WAG can often have litters of kittens in our care, although adorable they do take a lot of time and resources so if you can, please consider donating to WAG's Critical Care Program so we can help orphans like these when they need us the most.

Birch – Adopted December 2023!

Birch.Coast.9th.Nov

BIRCH

Critical Care graphic

Breed: Domestic Medium Hair
Gender: Female
Age: Approx. 4 months old
Size: Small

Energy Level: Currently low as I am recovering from recent surgery, but remember I'm still a young kitty really
Litter trained? Yes
Kids? Unknown, I'd like a calm home
Cats? Unknown, possibly with separation and supervision
Dogs? Unknown, possibly with separation and supervision
Medical Needs: Upcoming bloodwork re-check for possible kidney issues, potentially special food, then yearly vet visits with vaccine boosters, plus anything else that might come up!

About Me:

Hi I'm Birch! I'm just a baby who has recently been very unwell and am in recovery from a big emergency surgery. Luckily, the team at Coast Mountain Medical Services were able to hospitalise me for several days after I was brought in presenting with vomiting, lethargy, inappetence and was losing weight. After undergoing lots of tests including blood work, X-Rays and more I had a foreign object removed and was also spayed whilst I was under. I am now on the road to recovery but it has not been easy with ongoing medical care required daily to receive fluids, pain killers, antibiotics and monitoring of my kidney function which is still a concern. They tell me I'm a fighter and although I have been through so much in the past two weeks, I've been ever so brave and am grateful to WAG's Critical Care Fund donors who generously give to their special fund to help animals like me who need it the most when the worst happens.

We thank the vet team at Coast who have worked around the clock to provide extensive care which has given her the best chance at recovery. She is in the best hands in an experienced medical foster home and we have our fingers crossed that she will continue being brave and strong until her blood-work and next re-check in another week.

Keep an eye on my profile as the team here learn more about me and my ideal forever home, as well as any health updates when we have them. I may be a special needs kitty, anyone looking to adopt me to their home will need to be aware of this and be proactive with my medical care.  I am a cuddly, sweet kitten who loves human company and I really hope I can find my happy endind, whatever my health status and needs are determined to be moving forward......!

My Purrrfect Match:

- will continue my health plan and keep me on the special vet food I am currently eating as prescribed by my vet, with any extra checkups as required/ recommended moving forward. I potentially have ongoing issues with my kidneys, my next checkup will help us find out more.

- will be ready for a 15+ year commitment!

- have lots of patience while I transition into my new home with my new family, I've been through a lot and am still a baby who is learning all about the world

- will provide lots of enrichment, scratching towers, toys, catio etc.

- will understand that I am still developing and my personality may change over time!

- will keep me safe and happy, forever

My Story:

I was surrendered into WAG's care when I was very unwell and needed emergency medical help, followed by many days at the vet clinic for fluids, medications and additional care. I needed around the clock monitoring and am still waiting for my next re-check to make sure I have recovered as well as hoped. I'm looking for a calm, nurturing home where I can get back to being a kitten again!

Please consider donating to WAG's Critical Care Fund to help other animals like me get a second chance when we need it the most and are out of options. Thanks for our donors, our vet partners, volunteer drivers, fosters and everyone involved in these difficult cases.

Breed: Domestic Shorthair
Gender: Female
Age: Approx. 1 year old

Cats? Unknown, possibly with proper socialisation, supervision and separation

Medical Needs:  Moving forward - yearly vet visits and vaccine boosters

About Me:

Hi I'm Leia! I've been at WAG for a few weeks now along side my three babies who have all been adopted already into loving homes. We were all seen by a vet for our first ever vet checkups and vaccines, we were really brave and did so well! I was getting a bit bored at the shelter after my kittens didn't seem to need me anymore and got adopted so I have been resting up after my recent spay in a lovely foster home where I am enjoying my days whilst I wait for my next adventure to truely begin. I love it here, they let me sleep on their pillow every night 🙂 I'm showing my personality more each day but I've been pretty chill here, this may change as my energy increases and I settle into my new life. I'm still young myself after all! At just over a year old I do enjoy playing and running around more, and at the moment I love pets and of course dinner time and my turn for treats!

I am SO excited that it is my turn to find my own family, to love me and keep me safe forever and ever soon. If you feel like you might be the one, scroll down and fill out an application form today!
